Trump Loyalist And Ally Roger Stone Sentenced To 40 Months In Prison

Well, look what we have here: Roger Stone, a longtime friend, and ally of President Donald Trump, was sentenced this Thursday to 40 months in the slammer and two years of probation. It’s a punishment that is likely to upset the president and cause speculation that he’ll pardon the flamboyant GOP operative.

As we previously reported, Stone, 67, was found guilty back in November of lying to the House Intelligence Committee and obstructing its investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential race. In addition to that, he was also convicted of threatening a potential congressional witness. 

“This is intolerable to the administration of justice and the court should not sit ideally by, shrug its shoulders and say well that is just Roger being Roger,” US District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson said before handing down the sentence. She later added, “The truth still exists, the truth still matters. Roger Stone’s insistence that it doesn’t … [is] a threat to our most fundamental institutions.” Stone, a self-described “agent provocateur” who spent a career in the shadows of Republican politics before helping to engineer Trump’s election, chose not to speak when given the opportunity to during the sentencing hearing.

Now, his lawyers did ask for a new trial this week, claiming a member of the jury was biased. However, Jackson said on Wednesday she would “defer execution of any sentence” until she rules on whether to grant a new trial — meaning Stone wouldn’t have to begin a prison term until that matter is resolved.

As of right now, Trump has yet to rule out pardoning Stone, 67, for his seven felonies.

Celebrity colorist Jack Martin was behind the big transformation and shared what it was like
to go through the process.

“Sharon has 100% white hair and she was coloring her hair once a week dark vibrant red for the past 18 years. She explained to me that she wanted to do this transformation long time ago but every time she attempts it ends up with a disaster,” Martin wrote along a side-by-side photo of Osbourne’s old and new hair looks. He went on to explain, “Sharon was very tired of coloring her hair once a week and she was obligated to since she is on tv almost every day hosting her popular tv show @thetalkcbs.”

While it looked like a smooth process, but it was a bit do challenge. However, he managed to pull it off! “It took me a total of eight hours from start to finish to get her to a platinum blonde so she doesn’t have to be committed to coloring her hair once a week anymore,” the colorist said.

Fans are loving the new hairdo and couldn’t help but to tell the star how much they like the new style.

Jeff Bezos Pledges $10B To Fight Climate Change

Jeff Bezos is stepping up to help fight climate change! The Amazon honcho who‘s worth around $130 billion, made a huge announcement earlier this Monday that he is launching the Bezos Earth Fund which will finance work by scientists, activists and other groups.

In a post shared to Instagram with a picture of the planet, Bezos included a caption that read:

“Today, I’m thrilled to announce I am launching the Bezos Earth Fund.⁣⁣⁣ Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet. I want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share.” Jeff went on to say, “This global initiative will fund scientists, activists, NGOs — any effort that offers a real possibility to help preserve and protect the natural world. We can save Earth. It’s going to take collective action from big companies, small companies, nation states, global organizations, and individuals.”

⁣⁣⁣Before concluding he added,

“I’m committing $10 billion to start and will begin issuing grants this summer. Earth is the one thing we all have in common — let’s protect it, together.⁣⁣⁣ — Jeff.”

This will probably be great news for Amazon employees who have put pressure on Bezos for climate-friendly policies. As the Arstechnica reported, that pressure may have contributed to Amazon’s September decision to order 100,000 electric trucks and aim for net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

Brielle Biermann Opens Up About Her Old Lip Enhancers: ‘I Didn’t Realize How Crazy It Looked’

Brielle Biermann is never the one to shy away from sharing big things that have been going on in her life. As we previously reported, the 22-year-old reality star, who started getting her lips injected at age 18, made the big move to dissolve her filler last month. She’s now opening up to PEOPLE Magazine about why she decided to make such a change.

She told the outlet,

“I’ve been getting them injected off and on since I was 18. I flew out to LA in June 2015 and wanted them done so badly. My mom took me to [celebrity cosmetic surgeon] Dr. Simon Ourian.” Brielle went on to explain that she continued getting her lips done by various doctors during routine trips to Los Angeles and even admitted that she lost track of the number of times she’s gotten it done: “I don’t even know how many syringes have been used on me over the past five or six years,” she told the outlet.

Brielle says she loved the way her full lips looked with the fillers and even ignored advice from her close friends and family when she got a little carried away.

“I didn’t realize how big they were,” the star says. “I’d be like, ‘Oh, I’m going to LA,’ and they’re like, ‘Okay, well maybe let’s not inject the top lip. The top looks good. Let’s do the bottom.’ I was like, ‘F*** you guys. I’m going to do what I want.’ I didn’t realize how crazy it looked. I feel looking back, my lips really looked a little crazy,” she told the magazine.

Although she’s happy with her less-full lips, she does admit that it bothers her that people are extremely judgmental about enhancements:

“The [social media] engagement was through the roof,” Biermann tells PEOPLE. “Everybody was loving my [new] lips. It’s like people are so against any enhancements and are so judgmental. It made me feel bad. I feel bad for people out there who need the enhancements, who want the enhancements, but they’re scared to get judged or to go through kind of what I’ve gone through.”

She added,

“I don’t understand why somebody who doesn’t like their lips or hips or whatever can’t go get that fixed if they have the money to,” she says. We shouldn’t shame women for wanting to help themselves. It’s natural, but it doesn’t always have to be the goal.”

While fans also seem to love her dissolved lips, she recently shared that she re-injected them “just a tad” to correct unevenness from getting them dissolved. Fans have also been praising her for sharing her journey.

14 Americans Test Positive For Coronavirus After Evacuation From Cruise Ship

At least fourteen US citizens were found to have tested positive for the coronavirus as they were evacuated from a quarantined cruise ship to be brought home on Monday.

As we previously reported, thousands of people on the Diamond Princess cruise ship had been quarantined over the deadly coronavirus for more than a week. 300 US citizens were said to be on that same ship. However, the US finally offered flights home for its citizens on Monday morning. Though, fourteen of those passengers tested positive before boarding a plane home and had to travel in an “isolation box” at the back of the aircraft. The US State Department and Department of Health and Human Services said in a joint statement this morning,

“During the evacuation process, after passengers had disembarked the ship and initiated transport to the airport, U.S. officials received notice that 14 passengers, who had been tested 2-3 days earlier, had tested positive for COVID-19,” it said. The agencies added that the passengers had been evaluated, and “all were deemed asymptomatic and fit to fly before being processed for evacuation.”

According to Business Insider, the American passengers will likely travel to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, just outside of Sacramento, Henry Walke, the director of the CDC’s Division of Preparedness and Emerging Infections, told the WSJ.

Disney’s ‘Queen of Katwe’ Actor Nikita Pearl Waligwa Dies At 15

Nikita Pearl Waligwa, the youth actor who appeared in Disney’s biographical drama “Queen of Katwe,” has sadly passed away.

According to BBC and the Ugandan newspaper Daily Monitor, Waligwa had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016. While she seemed to recover a year later, another tumor was found just last year. It was said that “Queen of Katwe” director Mira Nair had helped organize efforts to fund Waligwa’s treatment during filming, according to BBC. The Monitor says that a funding campaign was also started for Nikita to get treatment in India, but local doctors were quoted as not having the proper equipment. She was only 15-years-old.

Waligwa was best known for her role in the Disney pic which was about a chess prodigy from Ugandan. The film was based on the true story of Phiona Mutesi, a 9-year-old chess player who famously competed in international tournaments. Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo also starred in the film. Oyelowo took to social media to pay tribute to the young star, calling her a “ball of light.”

“We mourn the loss of our beautiful Nikita Pearl Waligwa,” he captioned a photo of the actress via Instagram on Sunday. “She was a ball of light in @queenofkatwemovie and in life. Her battle with a brain tumor was humbling to witness. Her light will live on. #rip”

“Sex And the City” & ”Hunger Games” Star Lynn Cohen Dies At 86

Socialites, we have some unfortunate news to share. The Hollywood world has lost another star. According to Page Six, actress Lynn Cohen has sadly passed away at the age of 86, her rep confirmed.

As of right now, the cause of death for the actress has not been shared just yet. However, it was said that Cohen passed away in New York on Friday which was Valentine’s Day. The veteran screen and stage actress was best known for her role on “Sex and the City.” Her character Magda was a housekeeper and a nanny by the character Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon.

She was also known for her role as Mags in the “Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Fellow actress Sarah Jessica Parker took to social media to pay tribute to her former co-star and good friend. She said,

“Beautiful Lynn Cohen. Miranda’s dear and necessary Magda,” Sarah, who famously starred as Carrie Bradshaw on the series, captioned a photo of Cohen. “Our dear SATC colleague. Talent, grace, inspiration. RIP X, SJ” Actor Willie Garson, who played Carrie’s BFF Stanford, also commented, “❤️❤️😢😢❤️❤️”

There were more celebrities who reacted to the death of the beloved star. “Watch What Happens Live” host, Andy Cohen, also shared his thoughts. “Nooooooooo!!!! I love Lynn Cohen!!! She did St. Louis proud…. RIP andy,” he said.

3 Shot At Old Lady Gang Restaurant Owned By #RHOA Star Kandi Burruss

According to WSBTV, police are investigating a shooting at one the popular Old Lady Gang restaurants located in Atlanta, Georgia. So far, police shared that a man entered Old Lady Gang 2 on Marketplace Boulevard this Friday night and shot another man inside. During the shootout, two innocent bystanders happened to get hit.

WSBTV reports that the three victims are expected to be OK. However, the names of those who were wounded were not shared just yet. But, what we do know is that the police have confirmed that the targeted victim was a male but didn’t provide any details on the bystanders or their ages. It is also not clear if cops have a lead on the suspect. However, the news site notes that police are actively searching for the gunman.

Two witnesses recently spoke with 11Alive to share what they saw happen during the shootout:

The Old Lady Gang restaurants in metro Atlanta are owned by singer and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss. The 43-year-old has not publicly spoken out on this latest situation just yet. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Fire All UK Staff And Close Buckingham Palace Office

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to make big changes. Following the move to step down from their royal duties and relocate to Canada, the couple has reportedly fired all of their UK staff and has closed the Buckingham palace office.

According to Fox Business, a total of 15 of the UK staffers who served their office in Buckingham Palace were let go. But, it was reportedly expected as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex broke the news to their employees last month following their Megxit. However, it was said that two of their axed staffers may find their way back into the royal house, but most are currently negotiating their severance packages.

Buckingham Palace has not released a statement on this matter but a close source told The Daily Mail,

“Given their decision to step back, an office at Buckingham Palace is no longer needed,” a source told The Mail. “While the details are still being finalized and efforts are being made to redeploy people within the royal household, unfortunately, there will be some redundancies [firings].”

The source went on to say,

“The Duke and Duchess have a small team, less than 15 people. The team are very loyal to the Sussexes and understand and respect the decision they have taken,” the source said. “They are all close and supporting each other. The team are busy helping to set their Royal Highnesses up for the future and working on a series of final engagements.”

Teens Pretend To Spill Coronavirus On NYC Subway

While many people are already on edge over of the deadly coronavirus, two teens have decided to freak folks out even more with their “virus prank.”

In a video shared to Instagram shows two boys sitting on a train in full-body hazmat suits pretending to spill a vat of COVID-19 on a packed subway. As passengers stare at them, one of the guys teases the people by opening up the container then spilling the fluid onto the ground.

Just a couple of passengers seemed to be really freaked out but other folks can be seen laughing as they knew it was just another prank, which are common on the New York City trains. So far, their now-viral video has surpassed 45,000 views and has over 400 comments.

While speaking with Insider, Morris Cordewell, 19, explained that “the first half [of the prank], people were kinda scared,” but “After we were like, ‘Yo, it’s a prank,’ people were laughing,” adding that a mother with her kids next to him “knew it was a joke the whole time.” His partner, David Flores, 17, said, “They kinda figured it out themselves.”

Zoo Offers To Name A Rat Or Roach After Your Ex And Feed It To A Snake On V-Day

You no longer have to sit at home and mope around about your horrible ex on Valentine’s Day. Instead, you could get up and do something very entertaining that might even cheer up your day.

According to CNN, a zoo is now letting people name a rat or a cockroach after their ex before watching it get swallowed up by a snake or a bird. Participants will only have to pay $5 for a cockroach and $25 for a rat, and the animals will be offered to reptiles and birds on Feb. 14.

Now, here’s the part that may suck for some people. The “Cry Me A Cockroach” event will only be held at The San Antonio Zoo… in Texas. But don’t worry! the zoo will be live-streaming the event on Facebook so “even if you (or your exes) don’t live in Texas, you can still participate in this “feeding frenzy,” according to the site.

UPDATE: Coronavirus Death Toll Exceeds 900 In China

As expected, the coronavirus death toll has gone up. According to the latest updates by CNN, the Wuhan coronavirus killed 97 people in China yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths to 910 globally as of Monday. It was also reported that more than 40,000 people have now been infected.

People have been extremely concerned over this latest outbreak as the toll has overtaken the global number of deaths caused by the (SARS) — the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome virus, which killed 774 people in 2002-2003. While the growth of new cases could still accelerate, there‘s reportedly still a window of opportunity to contain the spread of the virus, World Health Organization Health Emergencies Program Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus said.

Although all of the victims were confirmed to be in China, U.S. officials said a 60-year-old American who contracted coronavirus was among those who died in a Wuhan hospital earlier in the week. Meanwhile, in the U.S., a dozen people have been confirmed as having been infected with coronavirus: six in California, two in Illinois, one in Massachusetts, one in Arizona, one in Washington and one in Wisconsin. No official deaths here in the U.S. have been reported.

Doctors have been trying their best to treat the patiences. A 1,500-bed hospital was even built in two weeks in Wuhan, the city of 11 million people at the center of the outbreak, where they accepted its first patients on Saturday, the government announced. Another 1,000-bed hospital built in 10 days opened last week.

“Hair Love” Wins Best Short Film At The 2020 Oscars!

“Hair Love,” the heartwarming film that inspires and encourages acceptance of natural hair has won an Oscar! That’s right!

Writer/director/producer and former NFL pro Matthew A. Cherry, and producer Karen Rupert Toliver took the stage and accepted the award for “Best Animated Short Film,” and even honored it to the late NBA star Kobe Bryant.

Cherry said he made Hair Love “because we want to see more representation in animation and to normalize black hair.” This is now the second time in three years that a professional athlete has won this category. Kobe Bryant and animator Glen Keane won the trophy back in 2018 for his film, “Dear Basketball.”

While accepting the Award, Rupert Toliver said,

”We have a firm belief that representation matters deeply.”

Sean Kingston Detained And Released In California

Sean Kingston was detained Saturday night after cops suspected he had drugs on him. LAPD tells TMZ that it all went down at around 8 pm at Dino’s Chicken & Burgers. Apparently, officers got a call that a man was brandishing a gun, and officers quickly arrived at the scene to check it out.

TMZ reports that once cops arrived, they ordered at least one man down on the ground and put Sean in cuffs as they led him toward a police car. Sean and several others were questioned but released shortly after because no gun was found.

Despite that, an eyewitness claims something completely different happened. The unidentified man claims Sean’s car was blocking the exit in the parking lot so no one could leave, and apparently that pissed off some patrons.  The eyewitness went on to say Sean got angry and began throwing ice cubes at the glass windows of the restaurant, which created a loud noise.

Heidi Klum Says She Received Backlash for Defending AGT Show: ‘I Was Called a White Woman’

We’ve seen all the negative feedback Gabrielle Union had received after she bravely spoke out about the “toxic culture” she experienced while being apart of the NBC family for America’s Got Talent. While some people even tried to dismiss her claims and actually believed she got fired from the show because of their lack of interest for the actress, she still managed to push through all the critics and even met with NBC for a productive meeting in hopes of seeing “real change.”

As we previously reported, fellow actor and AGT host Terry Crews spoke out to defend the network and the show, saying he never experienced such a thing while working. According to Page Six, Heidi Klum says she also received backlash for defending AGT amid Gabrielle Union‘s controversial firing. She told the news site,

“A lot of people got mad at me,” Klum told Page Six. “I was called, for example, ‘a white woman.’” Klum went on to explain that although it is “important for everyone to speak their truth,” her experience with AGT was just different.

“I think it is important for everyone to speak their truth. I think that when there is a story, it should be told. I had a different story,” Klum told Page Six.

Klum said something similar last month at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour when she was asked about Union’s reported claims of a toxic work environment.

“I can’t speak for her. I didn’t experience the same thing. To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I’ve never seen anything that was weird or hurtful.”

Nick Gordon’s Cause of Death Revealed

The cause of death for Nick Gordon has been revealed.

According to an autopsy report, Gordon, the former boyfriend of deceased pop icon Whitney Houston’s late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, — died of heroin toxicity. His manner of death is listed as accidental.

As we previously reported, Nick died at age 30 on New Year’s Day. He was administered Narcan and hospitalized for seven hours prior to being declared dead. At the time or his passing, Joe Habachy, Gordon’s attorney, told E! News:

“My heart is heavy today after learning that my long time client Nick Gordon died at the young age of thirty,” Joe Habachy, said. “While I cannot speak to the specific circumstances of his death, I can say that it’s been truly heartbreaking to have witnessed firsthand the total devastation that drug addiction has wreaked upon a group of young friends, all of whom were loved and had immense potential. Despite all of the incredible challenges Nick faced over the last few years, I can honestly say that he worked hard to hold his head up and stay sober and that he genuinely wanted a happy, healthy life with his family more than anything else. My heart goes out to the family and friends Nick leaves behind and to any other families dealing with the losses and heartache caused by drugs.”

Chinese Doctor Who Warned Of Coronavirus Outbreak Is In “Critical Condition”

Li Wenliang, the 34-year-old Chinese doctor who tried to warn others about the Wuhan coronavirus is reported to be critically ill from the infection.

Earlier reports stated that Wenliang had died today but The Wuhan City Central Hospital clarified those reports on its official account on the Chinese social media site, Weibo. They said that they were still trying to save the doctor, Li Wenliang, and confirmed he was still alive but is in critical condition.

“Li Wenliang is currently in critical condition,” the Global Times claimed in the early hours of Friday, local time.

“His heart reportedly stopped beating at around 21:30. He was then given treatment with ECMO (extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation),” it added, according to The Guardian.

As of Wednesday evening the death toll from the virus went up to 564 — virtually all of them in mainland China — with more than 28,000 others infected.

Florida Woman Zaps Her Husband For Trying To End Marriage

Florida woman Pamela Carr woke up Sunday morning to a conversation she didn’t want to hear from her husband. Apparently, he wanted to separate from her after 9 years of marriage.

Rather than trying to talk things out like adults, the heartbroken women wanted him to feel the pain she was currently feeling at that moment, so she ZAPPED him! The 68-year-old woman pulled out a taser and stung her 73-year-old spouse over-and-over again.

She was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery, a felony. Police say Carr admitted to tasing her husband but tried to “claim it was in self-defense.” However, Carr was released shortly after from the county jail after posting $1000 bond.

A judge has ordered Carr to have no contact with the victim and has barred her from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Gervonta Davis Reportedly Ordered To Stay Away From Baby Mama After Domestic Violence Arrest

As we previously reported on Tuesday, professional boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested and charged with misdemeanor simple battery domestic violence after a recent video showed him yoking up his baby mother at a charity basketball game.

The police department had initially released this statement explaining that “As a result of an ongoing investigation after being notified through social media and the victim, on February 1, 2020, (Davis) was observed battering his former girlfriend (with) whom have a child together,” Coral Gables police said in a statement. “(Davis) surrendered himself to Coral Gables police detectives assigned to the case.”

However, according to new details by TMZ and The Blast, apparently, Davis did more on top of the aggressive grabbing. TMZ Sports has obtained the police report in which cops say they have surveillance footage which appears to show Davis striking the victim in the face, causing injuries. Apparently, when they got to the backroom, cops say video shows Davis “pulling his arm back and then forward towards the victim, which is consistent with a strike to the face where the victim sustained injuries to her lip and left jaw.”

There are photos of her injuries but they have not been shared yet. Following his arrest, Davis has now been ordered to stay away from his baby mother and have no contact with her until the outcome of the criminal case, The Blast reports.

Davis initially denied putting hands on her in a statement on social media saying,

“I never once hit her, yea I was aggressive and told her to come on… that’s the mother of my child I would never hurt her other than that happy New Years.. January was trash.”

The Daily Mail recently spoke with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva who explained how he gathered all of this up. De Silva said he came to the conclusion through the “science” of the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi which measures the symmetry of a face to determine one’s beauty. According to the Golden ratio for a person to be beautiful, the resultant should be nearly equal to 1.6.

The former Twilight star was found to be 92.15 percent “accurate” to the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi. His facial features were measured up with other big male celebrities. Following behind Pattinson is Henry Cavill, the Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney at 91.64, 91.08, 90.51, and 89.91 percent respectively. 

“Robert Pattinson was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection,” De Silva said. “These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful and the technology is useful when planning  patients’ surgery.”

Michigan State University Apologizes For Display Of Black Figures Hanging On Tree

Michigan State University has finally issued a statement attached with an apology for displaying prominent black figures hanging from a tree at their campus gift shop.

The school has come under fire ever since a student named Krystal Davis-Dunn, uploaded the strange photos to Facebook last week. It showed doll-like figures hanging on tree-shaped displays at a gift shop in the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, saying the imagery evoked lynchings. In the display hanging from the tree were apparently former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, Harriet Tubman, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as well as the singers Prince and Diana Ross.

Davis-Dunn explained that her intention to post the images was to vent and “highlight the continuous acts of microaggressions” she has personally experienced as a black student at Michigan State University. Emily Guerrant, a spokeswoman for the majority-white university, apologized for the poor move saying,

“We sincerely apologize to our community members and have immediately removed the display,” Guerrant said, as NBC quotes. “Additionally, after the Wharton Center reported the incident, it has agreed to provide employees and volunteers with racial bias training that focuses on the impact and understanding of intentional and unintentional racial bias.”

“We recognize that we have more work to do to make MSU an inclusive and safe campus, and we’re committed to making those changes,” Guerrant said.

Two Killed, Another Injured in Shooting at Texas A&M-Commerce

According to breaking reports, another school shooting has occurred, this time at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

This Monday afternoon, the Texas A&M-Commerce University Police Department tweeted that there were three gunshot victims at the Pride Rock residence hall. A short time later the school tweeted that two of the victims had died and that a third was being treated at a hospital nearby.

It was said that students at the East Texas college were warned to take shelter while university police investigated the shooting. The lockdown was lifted at about 1:30 p.m., NBC reported. Unfortunately, no further details about the victims, including their identities or the motive behind the shooting, were shared.

NBCDFW also reported that classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day.
