One Dead, Five Wounded In Greyhound Bus Shooting

One person has been killed with another five others injured following a shooting on a Greyhound bus traveling from Los Angeles to the Bay Area on Monday.

California Highway Patrol took the unidentified suspect into custody after “numerous” passengers began to call 911 and report an active shooter.

There were 42 passengers in total on the bus along with the driver, and a 51-year-old woman from Colombia who passed away as a result. The five other injured passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, two of them are reportedly in serious condition.

Following the shooting, the driver pulled over on the freeway shoulder and the suspect willingly got off. He was soon arrested on the shoulder of the freeway.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and every family member impacted by the incident today,” Crystal Booker from Greyhound said in a statement. “We are gathering details. … What we do know at this time is that the incident involved schedule 6848-1, traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco …”

As of now, there is no indication as what the motive might have been.
