In the middle of the energetic show, six children walked out onto the runway wearing classic Lakers jerseys with Kobe Bryant’s famed numbers, 8 and 24. It was a move to honor the late NBA star who tragically died last month in a helicopter crash in California.

Video taken by Footwear News shows the young athletes standing quietly as the audience takes in the sweet moment.

As we previously reported, Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were just two of nine people to die in Sunday’s helicopter crash that included Christina Mauser, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester and pilot Ara Zobayan. The cause of the crash is still not immediately clear as of right now.
