Death Row Records Co-Founder Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris Pardoned By President Trump

Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris is now a free man after President Trump pardoned him during his last day at the White House.

In an exclusive by Daily Mail, Death Row Records co-founder, and former drug kingpin Harry-O is set to be released from a federal prison in California on Tuesday after spending 32 years for attempted murder and drug trafficking. Snoop Dogg ran a private campaign to have his friend pardoned by the president and the release was signed off on Monday. Initially, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows warned President Trump not to sign the pardon but he went on with the decision.

Harris,58, served his time since 1988 and ran Death Row Records from his cell along with a string of legitimate businesses and drug transactions.

Snoop Dogg asked for the help of Weldon Angelos, a music producer who was pardoned by President Trump on Dec. 26. Angelos asked Alice Johnson to help with Harris’ case and she brought the idea to President Trump’s office. Johnson was also pardoned by Trump after Kim Kardashian met with the President to discuss the case in 2018.

Harris’ attorney Bruce Tucker said his client’s release was long overdue and thanked Snoop Dogg for his efforts:

‘It occurred during the 1980s, at a time when then Presidents Ronald Regan and George H.W. Bush authorized legislation that imposed draconian penalties for drug offenses, which primarily and adversely affected young African American men living in the inner-city, such as Mr. Harris,’ Zucker said. This commutation is more than equitable, and it is long overdue. We are all grateful for the hard work on this case by prison reform professionals Alice Johnson, Weldon Angeleno, and artist Snoop Dogg, as well as a private investigator and sentencing expert John Brown.’
