The Washington Commanders receiver is pushing back on a lawsuit that paints him as the man behind a Florida beatdown, and his legal team says the other side has shown absolutely nothing to back it up.

In court papers obtained by TMZ, Stefon Diggs argued that Mr. Nigel King, who is suing him for defamation, has offered no evidence that he told anyone to attack King on December 4, 2025.

As we previously reported, Mr. King says he provides travel and logistics services for wealthy clients, Diggs among them, and that he helped coordinate moving the player’s Ferrari from Miami to New York in July 2024. But according to his suit, strangers stole the car, and Diggs then pointed the finger at him. King says he was never charged, cited or named as a suspect, but claimed Diggs spread false claims linking him to the theft. He also alleges Diggs’s circle made him pay for it physically.

The suit says associates assaulted him at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Florida on December 4, 2025, and that Diggs directed it. The complaint lists defamation, civil conspiracy, assault and battery, vicarious liability, ratification, and aiding and abetting.

Now Diggs isn’t just denying it. He’s going on offense in the paperwork, disputing the assault allegation, while denying making any defamatory statements. Because of that, he  has asked the court to dismiss several claims and make King cover part of his legal fees.

As Diggs notes, for now, nothing has been proven in either case, and a judge has yet to rule on Diggs’s request to trim King’s lawsuit.
