Kim Kardashian laughed when Jimmy Kimmel joked that her legal training may make her more qualified than former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, Kardashian discussed her path toward becoming a California lawyer. She said she passed the preliminary “baby bar” but has not yet passed the final bar exam.
“So you are technically, uh, more a lawyer than the White House press secretary,” Kimmel joked, referring to questions about Zacharia’s legal credentials. Kardashian burst out laughing and declined when he asked whether she would consider applying for the job.
Kardashian began a four-year legal apprenticeship in 2019 and passed the baby bar on her fourth attempt in 2021. She previously said she failed California’s final bar exam but planned to keep trying.
Zacharia has acknowledged failing California’s bar exam in 2011. After being asked outside the White House which state’s bar she passed, she replied, “When I moved to China,” later telling The New York Times that she had misunderstood the question.
Kimmel had already criticized Zacharia’s first briefing, mocking her reading style and calling her “Malibu Katie.”
