Danielle Cohn released the song on her TikTok page on Friday asking her fans to make videos to her “new” song. Several fans on Twitter caught wind of the video and accused Cohn of stealing Ashanti’s classic hit and calling it her own. In response to the backlash, the teen singer wrote in a tweet, “Do people not understand what a cover is?” and “trending on twitter cause I did a cover song so sad!”
However, Cohn also released merchandise after releasing the song on major streaming platforms. The merch is designed with the lyrics of “Foolish” and other phrases.
