Kandi Burruss is breaking her silence on her latest controversy with Tamar Braxton, which follows an “awkward” photo moment at the July 2026 Essence Fest.

As we previously shared, following the weird July 4 encounter, Burruss posted photos excluding Braxton and social media began speculating Burruss was being shady. While taking to TikTok Live, Braxton called the encounter “awkward,” adding she only greeted everyone on stage to be cordial and congratulate all of the honorees.
Braxton continued to speak on the drama in a recent interview on ‘The Morning Hustle’ radio show. Braxton said she has “no beef” with Burruss or anyone else. On July 29, Burruss responded online and denied the “no beef” claim.

By July 31, Burruss is now fully addressing the drama on her ‘Speak On It’ podcast. Burruss said, “She is a fake a** b*tch to me. And no, I was not finna be fake at that place. This lady talks crazy about me on a regular basis on the internet, all the f**king time.”
Burruss then denied claims that she intentionally posted images excluding Braxton. She said she only posted the images of the honorees. She wasn’t sure why Braxton came on stage when she wasn’t being honored or awarded during the ceremony. Burruss said, “She gives a very false representation of what be going on. This lady is constantly trying to gaslight me on a regular basis.”
Burruss said she ran into Braxton at a party a few weeks later on July 25. She alleged as they walked past each other, Braxton called her a “b*tch.” She said she didn’t say anything to Braxton and that the two had already passed each other before the alleged comment was made.
Burruss recalled the incident claiming Braxton was leaving as she was coming in. She claimed Braxton doubled back inside and a male friend with Braxton sat right next to Burruss. She claimed Braxton was provoking her “to get a reaction” out of her. Burruss alleged Braxton tries to make the public believe Burruss is “a mean girl.” She continued to recall more run-ins and text message receipts.
