There’s a new streaming platform pulling up to the culture, and it’s coming in hot with a psychological thriller that’s already got timelines buzzing. Turnstr+ just dropped the official trailer for “Forever, This Ring.” It’s very first original film, and the cast alone is enough to make you clear your schedule. We’re talking Taye Diggs, Loretta Devine, La’Myia Good, Erica Mena, Marques Houston and Malik Whitfield all sharing the screen for a story about a marriage that looks perfect from the outside and turns into an absolute nightmare behind closed doors.
The film is directed by Chris Stokes, a name a lot of us already know from the world of R&B before he ever picked up a camera. Stokes made his name as a record executive, and he’s since built a reputation as a filmmaker who knows how to deliver the kind of high drama, conversation-starting movies that keep Black audiences tuning in. His track record includes launching originals that have driven strong engagement on platforms like Tubi and BET+, and now he’s bringing that same energy to Turnstr+ right out of the gate.
So what’s “Forever, This Ring” actually about?
The story follows Maveric Collins, a successful entrepreneur and self-proclaimed playboy who swore he’d never settle down until he meets the woman of his dreams and changes his mind. However, once the ring is on and the vows are said, he starts to realize his new wife isn’t who he thought she was at all. From there, things spiral. What begins as a seemingly perfect union quickly turns into something far more sinister, as Maveric starts to question whether the woman he married is even who she claims to be.
The trailer wastes no time setting the tone, either. It gives fans the first extended look at the chaos brewing underneath this couple’s seemingly enviable life, with the romance quickly curdling into suspicion, confrontation and increasingly dangerous behavior.

And the big question hanging over the whole trailer, per the film’s own logline: will the woman he once loved walk away calmly, or is this headed for a deadly divorce? Whew!
This new project for Stokes is just the beginning of something much bigger. Stokes has signed an exclusive 20-picture deal with Turnstr+, meaning “Forever, This Ring” is only the opening chapter of what’s shaping up to be a major content pipeline for the new platform.
Before it ever hits your phone or TV screen, though, “Forever, This Ring” is getting the full Hollywood rollout. The film premieres September 29 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, putting the cast on the red carpet in true movie-star fashion before the film makes its way to everyday viewers. From there, the film and the platform itself officially launches for streaming on October 2.
