Justin Timberlake is reportedly planning to address past controversies involving his and Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl wardrobe drama, plus drama involving his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears. But as the news, reported by Variety, surfaces, a fashion designer for Ms. Jackson insists “there was no wardrobe malfunction” as Timberlake has long claimed.
Justin Timberlake Reportedly Set To Address Janet Jackson Super Bowl Drama And Britney Spears’ Comments In 4-Part Docuseries
On Monday (November 2), Variety reported that three sources confirmed to them that Timberlake is set to release a four-part docuseries on Apple TV in December. Sources said the series will be directed by Fisher Stevens.
The project has been described as a “tell-all.” It will feature Jackson discussing the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” during her and JT’s 2004 Super Bowl performance. Another source said Timberlake will also address some of his ex-girlfriend, Spears’ recent comments about him in the years following her bombshell memoir release.
In response to news of JT’s reported four-part docuseries, and it addressing Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction,” her longtime fashion designer is speaking out. On Tuesday (November 3), Wayne Scot Lukas told TMZ JT’s claims are totally bogus.
Although the infamous Super Bowl incident will play a key role in the series, Lukas said he was not asked to contribute. Even with being at the center of the controversy, Lukas said JT never apologized to him. He said the “wardrobe malfunction” claims seriously hurt his career and his name was never cleared.

Janet Jackson’s Designer Slams Justin Timberlake’s ‘Wardrobe Malfunction’ Claim In Super Bowl Breast Drama
Lukas admitted Jackson’s outfit was in fact supposed to reveal her breast. He explained that he was instructed to make the change in order to bring more shock value to the performance. Lukas said the original plan was for Jackson to show off her rumpshaker while wearing a g-string. However, days before the performance, the teams decided to switch things up and flash her breast instead.
Lukas said production was supposed to have cameras cut away to a black screen after JT revealed Jackson’s breast. But, obviously, that didn’t happen. Subsequently, Lukas places the blame on producers.
Meanwhile, JT has long called the incident a “wardrobe malfunction.” And Jackson has maintained it was an accident and not a pre-planned stunt. Lukas’ claims counter both of theirs. Furthermore, he admitted he doesn’t want an apology from JT, but for him to simply tell the actual story.
