Yikes! Things are heating up with N.O.R.E. and Stephen Jackson as the rapper-turned-podcaster called the former NBA player-turned-podcaster a “big goofy” for “not having no smoke” with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe — who joked about George Floyd during Netflix’s ’The Roast Of Kevin Hart.’

As we previously shared, on May 10 celebrities gathered at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California to roast Kevin Hart. During the live-streamed event, Hinchcliffe made a joke about Floyd — the 46-year-old Black man who was killed on May 25, 2020 after being pinned to the ground and having his neck kneeled on by Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin

Towards the end of Hinchcliffe’s roast of Hart, he began to praise his achievements.

“You know, Kevin, they told me not to mention your kids on this roast, but I must say, you did good. They’ve gotten so big they now buckle Kevin up in the car seat. It’s true, he lost his gig hosting the Academy Awards because of some homophobic tweets, but you’d be homophobic too if you were eye-level with everyone’s c**k. He got into a fist fight on a private plan—proof that matter how much money Black people have, they’re still just gonna act like niiiiinjas. Always fighting. Ha ha ha. Like Bill Cosby, hard as a Black comedian from Philadelphia. Unlike Bill Cosby, women don’t know when Kevin is inside of them. You’ve done good, though, Kevin. The Black community is so proud of you. Right now, George Floyd is looking up at us all, laughing so hard that he can’t breathe. God bless you, Kevin. God bless this room. And God bless the United States of America. Thank you so much.”

Stephen Jackson Slams Tony Hinchcliffe’s Joke About George Floyd

Stephen Jackson, aka Stak, shared an initial post condemning Hinchcliffe. Jackson — who had a close relationship with Floyd, whom he dubs his “brother/twin” — said:

“One thing about it, you can’t tell people what to be offended by and what not to be offended by. Everybody’s laughing until it’s their family member that gets murdered, then it ain’t funny. Then it ain’t funny when it’s your family member. It’s cool when it’s everybody else family member, but when it comes to your door step you want everybody to feel a certain way.”

George Floyd’s brother, Terence Jackson, also slammed Hinchcliffe’s “tasteless” joke. Finally, on May 25, during his ‘Kill Tony‘ series, Hinchcliffe addressed backlash while denying being “a racist.” The following day, on May 26, Kevin Hart broke his silence on ‘The Breakfast Club.’ He agreed that the joke “wasn’t tasteful,” but he defended roast culture. He also said he had a conversation with Stak right after the event and that things were good between them.

Hours after Hart’s interview, Jackson went live and continued to say that he and Hart are good, but that he still doesn’t condone Hinchcliffe’s joke. He said his hate isn’t towards Hart, but Hinchcliffe. Jackson also said that he didn’t expect Hart to interrupt Hinchcliffe’s set and stop him. Reacting to Jackson’s comments, N.O.R.E. pressed the ‘All The Smoke’ podcast host about “not having no smoke” for Hinchcliffe.
