Brooklyn Chop House Miami marked its first anniversary in style during Labor Day weekend, welcoming a star-studded crowd that included Mary J. Blige as the restaurant celebrated a major milestone in Wynwood. The evening also doubled as a birthday celebration for co-owner Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins, bringing together entertainment, hospitality, and culture under one roof.
Over 100 guests attended the celebration, hosted by Terrence J and featuring music from DJs S&S, Fly Guy, Nini, and Top Feeling.
Don Pooh Reflects on a Growing Hospitality Brand
The anniversary represented another achievement for Cummins, whose career spans music, business, and hospitality. Before entering the restaurant industry, Cummins worked alongside artists including Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Foxy Brown, and Mary J. Blige, later serving as executive vice president at MCA Records. His transition into hospitality has helped Brooklyn Chop House become known for blending upscale dining with hip-hop culture.
The Miami location, situated inside the Moxy Miami Wynwood, combines a modern steakhouse experience with Asian-inspired cuisine, signature dumplings, premium steaks, seafood, cocktails, and nightlife.
Celebrity Guests Celebrate Black Excellence
Mary J. Blige’s appearance added to a guest list that also included Mike Tyson, Lil Meech, Buju Banton, and other notable figures from entertainment and sports. Guests were welcomed with champagne before enjoying an evening featuring elaborate décor, ice sculptures, sushi, shrimp cocktails, and other upscale offerings.
Beyond celebrating one successful year in business, the event highlighted Black entrepreneurship, cultural influence, and the continued growth of Brooklyn Chop House Miami as one of Wynwood’s premier dining and nightlife destinations.
