Newly-released court documents are shedding another light on Karmelo Anthony as the material shows him posing with guns, and allegedly texting threats, slamming “gay people” and “despising Black b*tches.”
Anthony is the Texas teen who was convicted in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. The incident occurred in April 2025 at a school track meet in Frisco, Texas. In June 2026, a non-Black jury found Anthony guilty of first-degree murder. Shortly after the conviction, the jury agreed to sentence him to 35 years in prison, and a White judge made the ruling official.
Anthony’s family decided to fight the ruling. With the help of a new pro bono legal team — comprised of high-profile appellate, civil rights, and criminal defense attorneys — they filed a request to appeal the conviction and sentencing. However, in August 2026, a Texas judge denied the 19-year-old’s motion for a new trial.
Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, who denies he’s a racist, was happy about the news, but insisted justice still wasn’t served. He said Anthony should have received a life sentence. Metcalf’s comments also arrived as his late son’s troubling past surfaced. Metcalf stated that if the court shared more about Anthony’s past, he would’ve received a longer sentence, no doubt.
Karmelo Anthony’s Alleged Violent, Homophobic, And Racist Texts Surface After Judge Denies Conviction & 35-Year Sentence Appeal
Now, just over two weeks later, Anthony’s past is surfacing online. Newly-released court documents shows Anthony posing with guns. The documents also show alleged text messages of Anthony threatening to “shoot the school up” and “punch girls in the face.”
The alleged texts also show him slamming “gay people” and revealing how much he “despises Black b*tches” with “all that wig glue.” The alleged texts also appear to show his alleged history of rage and violence. In four single-line alleged messages, he wrote:
“When get mad I see red. When I get mad I blackout. When I get mad I can’t control myself. When I get mad my eyes change color.”
Anthony’s girlfriend, Valeria Torres Perez, told school staff that he was allegedly stalking her hours before Metcalf’s stabbing. She said, he texted her, “I’m lowk[ey] on the verge.” He allegedly repeated and emphasized the text 35 minutes later. Perez also told a Centennial High School staff member that Anthony had been driving by her home and refusing to let her end their relationship.
Perez alleged Anthony also threatened he was going to shoot a woman, writing, “I’m shooting her.” He also allegedly threatened to shoot Perez, asking “How many bullets uu want coming out of ur chest.” Six days later, he allegedly threatened to assault Perez again, writing, “I’mma beat ur a**.” The alleged threats continued.
