Meghan McCain isn’t the only Meg speaking out about 13-year-old North West’s Dazed Magazine cover as Megyn Kelly and Dr. Drew Pinsky join in and slam her parents Kanye West (aka Ye) and Kim Kardashian.
North West Explains Signature Look With Blue Hair And Real & Fake Piercings
On Tuesday (August 25), North showed off her signature Japanese-inspired blue hair, real and faux piercings, and black grills on the latest cover of Dazed Magazine — whose Fall 2026 issue goes on sale internationally beginning September 10.
On the cover of the magazine, North is dubbed a “new idol.” In her feature story, the teen talked about her fast-rising music career, performing at big concerts and festivals, attending fashion shows, and more.
North also spoke on her signature fashion and real and fake (sticker) piercings. She recalled telling her mom, “Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff. All I want is blue hair and piercings.” When asked what she loves most about piercings, she said, “They just make you your full self. I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed.”
Previously, Kim Kardashian claimed backlash over North’s self-expression was “a non-issue” because her kid is happy. She explained, “It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative away from her.”
Meghan McCain, Megyn Kelly, And Dr. Drew Criticize North West’s Dazed Magazine Cover And Her Parents Kim Kardashian And Kanye West
Despite North admitting her limitations with expressing her individuality, social media continues to criticize her look. This included criticism from former host of ‘The View’ Meghan McCain. According to TMZ, she posted and deleted a tweet that read, “This poor baby. My heart just breaks for this child.” McCain later added to her comment while responding to the headline claiming she “mocked” North. She clarified, “I was not mocking. I feel terrible for her and believe that kind of magazine cover is no place for a child. Don’t twist it.”
Meanwhile, journalist Megyn Kelly took to her self-titled show, joined by guest Dr. Drew Pinsky, and condemned North’s parents. In a nearly 9-minute clip from the show, Kelly compared North’s behavior to her own 13-year-old son, Thatcher.
She said, “My son is riding his bike, playing tennis, and playing something called bucket golf with his buddies in the backyard.” Criticizing North’s parents, Kelly said, “This girl…is launching an album, she’s going to be performing concerts, and they are rushing to try to make her a star.”
Kelly and Dr. Drew also questioned the themes of North’s album ‘N0rth4evr.’ Dr. Drew seemingly attempted to diagnose the child as Kelly broke down the lyrics to her song “Aishite.” While Dr. Drew mentioned Ye’s Bipolar Disorder diagnosis, Kelly mentioned Kim’s intimate tape with Ray J.
