On Tuesday (August 25), the 13-year-old daughter of Kanye West (aka Ye) and Kim Kardashian showed off her signature Japanese-inspired blue hair, faux piercings, and black-out grills on the latest cover of Dazed Magazine

On the cover of the magazine — whose Fall 2026 issue goes on sale internationally beginning September 10 —  North is gains the title of a “new idol.” In North’s feature story, she talked about her fast-rising music career, her parents, attending fashion shows, performing at big concerts and festivals, and much more. During her interview, North also revealed what she would want to do if she weren’t an artist.

As we previously shared, she said she wants to work at Starbucks. She said:

“I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year. I think I can next year ’cause I’m gonna be 14, so… I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess…”

North West Says She’s Not ‘Allowed’ To Get Certain Piercings

When talking about her fashion and real and fake (sticker) piercings, North said she told her mom, “Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff. All I want is blue hair and piercings.”

When asked what she loves most about piercings, she said, “They just make you your full self. I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed.”

Despite North admitting she has certain limitations with expressing her individuality, many social media users continue to criticize her look, including Meghan McCain. According to TMZ, she posted and deleted a tweet that read, “This poor baby. My heart just breaks for this child.”

McCain ended up blasting the headline claiming she “mocked” North, and clarified, “I was not mocking. I feel terrible for her and believe that kind of magazine cover is no place for a child. Don’t twist it.”
