Congratulations to Joycelyn Savage and R. Kelly, who have reportedly welcomed a baby girl into the world. Joycelyn shared the news on her Instagram page, revealing that her bundle of joy, who is named Ava Lee Kelly, was born on December 8, as she accompanied her post by giving her followers a glimpse of the girl. “Ava Lee Kelly 12.08.22,” the caption read, accompanied by a snap of the newborn infant.
In a follow-up post, Joycelyn continued, “My baby girl Ava when you were born, my whole world shined so bright. I knew that it was no longer about me anymore it was about us. Though the world is cold, I promise to always protect you. I am so happy to be your mother & you bring me so much joy. 12.08.22.”

As we previously reported, Joycelyn announced her pregnancy in her 11-page-long memoir, “Love and Joy of Robert,” which was released back in August. She explained how she found out about the news shortly after R. Kelly popped the question and surprised her with an engagement ring before he was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking and racketeering.
Even though Joycelyn asserted that she had been given the approval by R. Kelly to release the memoir — after having presented him with an early copy before it was published — lawyers for the “I’m A Flirt” singer denied her claims, insisting that the baby was not R. Kelly’s.
His attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, told TMZ at the time of the pregnancy announcement that Joycelyn was “certainly not pregnant with” her client’s child, adding that the memoir was not actually a tell-all book and that “people are just insane.” Joycelyn firmly stood behind her words, dispelling Jennifer’s comments that R. Kelly was not the father of her child.

And given that her daughter shares the same surname as her fiance, it’s fair to assume that the R&B hitmaker may actually be the dad, assuming a paternity test may have already been performed. It would seem rather strange for Joycelyn to have Ava carry R. Kelly’s surname unless she was sure that he is, in fact, the child’s dad.
In her book, she’s famously quoted saying, “Months later, I began expecting severe morning sickness and was unsure what was wrong with my body. I thought I had contracted COVID-19, but the most amazing news of all was that I was expecting. It was a happy day but an incomplete time in my life. Today I am grateful to God for giving me the most precious gift. Robert is extremely excited about the news that I am having a baby and feels sad that Robert will not be able to be here with us.”
