According to Ring doorbell footage shared by Metcalf, the incident happened on Friday (November 6) at around 8:37 p.m. CST. In the video, there are three White women who walk past Metcalf’s apartment door.

As they come into the camera’s frame, the first woman hops into the camera, beats on her chest, and makes monkey noises. A second woman follows suits, jumping even closer into the camera and echoing the monkey noises.

Meanwhile, the third woman doesn’t appear to fully engage, but also doesn’t intervene or condemn her friends during the incident. Instead, she simply trails behind with a smile on her face watching them mock the residents watching their doorbell footage.

About two hours after the incident, Metcalf, who is a Freshman at the University of Mississippi, shared the clip to her TikTok. While uploading the video, she called out school officials. Metcalf captioned the post, “What do we have to say about this ?? @Ole Miss.”

Early Saturday morning (November 7), Metcalf took to the comments and updated, “We just found out they are our upstairs neighbors 🥲.” Hours later, she once again updated, “I will give a[n] update when we get something.”
