Whew! #Socialites, come get into this: It looks like Remy Ma ruffled Papoose’s feathers with her latest freestyle because he just whipped out a cease and desist with heavy demands!
As many are aware, Rem dropped her fiery freestyle track “W.Y.F.L.” (Why You F*cking Lying), earlier this month, taking aim at Pap’s ghostwriting claims, his bedroom skills, and his current flame, boxer Claressa Shields. The track has been going pretty viral as she recently performed it at Angie Martinez’s BBQ. Clearly her bars hit home as Papoose decided to trade rap bars for legal filings. Instead of hopping in the studio to clap back, the Brooklyn rapper had his lawyers serve up a cease and desist demanding she scrub the song off the face of the internet immediately!
Legal documents show that on April 18, Pap’s lawyer, Shelley Albert, sent off a stern letter directly to Remy’s attorney, Diane Bowman, in connection with their ongoing divorce case (Willie Shamele Mackie v. Reminisce Mackie). Papoose’s legal team blasted the rap veteran for unleashing a recording stacked with “profane, insulting, and highly negative remarks” designed to embarrass him publicly. The C&D didn’t hold back either, literally copy-pasting Remy’s lyrics:
“The nerve of n—s claiming that they wrote those hits / when their whole career they ain’t never ghost wrote s—t / not for me or anybody else / you always acting like you helping n—g go help yo self”—and called out her blows aimed at Claressa, including: “In competition w/ herself, I don’t know that b—h. Hoes be doing the most over so-so d—k… You want to be a baddie but you ain’t bad enough.”
Pap’s camp argues that Remy’s public disses are way out of line, especially since both sides were actively working on non-disparagement agreements behind the scenes.
They warned that dragging their personal beef into the public spotlight poses serious emotional harm to their young daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie. The letter specifically points out that “parties in a family matter should be mindful that their conduct today can have lasting consequences for their child tomorrow,” while claiming that both Papoose and Claressa Shields have previously done interviews maintaining they hold zero ill will toward Remy…
Now, Remy Ma, who is still technically married to Papoose, has been mentioned in several of their interviews. While she has tried her best to refrain from clapping back, it’s clear she had enough and is letting her music do all the talking.

Pap and Shields’ ultimatum is clear: Remy needs to immediately cease and desist all publication of the track and delete the offending material without delay. If she doesn’t comply, Papoose’s lawyers warned they’re fully prepared to amend their court filings to hit her with a formal lawsuit for defamation and drag her for legal fees.
