Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs recently found himself doing time in the “hole” at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after getting into a heated physical altercation with a fellow inmate who decided to test his gangsta.
However, according to TMZ, now the 56-year-old hitmaker was released back into the general population after spending time in solitary confinement following the brawl, but the brief moment of pride definitely came with a heavy cost.

While holding it down on the yard might earn temporary points behind bars, federal prison guards don’t play about violence, and the Bureau of Prisons made sure to remind him where he is. A representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons held tight to their standard protocol, stating, “The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not comment on the conditions of confinement, disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns.”
Unfortunately for the former billionaire, letting his temper get the best of him immediately put a dent in his freedom trajectory. Before the fight, Diddy’s legal team was watching his projected release date slide up bit by bit thanks to potential good-behavior credits.

According to jailhouse sources, the entire commotion started when another inmate tried to play Diddy and threw some slick commentary his way inside the low-security facility. What began as a verbal spat quickly turned physical when words weren’t enough to settle the disrespect. Witnesses say the two prisoners started pushing each other before full-on punches were thrown. While correctional officers were quick to jump in and break up the scuffle, insiders claimed Diddy actually “held his own” during the scrap before both men were yanked apart and sent straight to the Special Housing Unit (SHU).
But following the prison yard throwdown, federal records show his official release date got pushed back to February 20, 2028. As previously reported, Diddy is currently serving out a 50-month sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and as he just learned the hard way, keeping his hands to himself is the only guaranteed way to catch that early flight back home.
