The two kids, identified as 12-year-old Travis O’Brien and 14-year-old Nicole Jackson, opened fire on the deputies with an AK-47 and a shotgun after authorities received a call about a break-in at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home. In the video, Jackson fired a warning shot several times as a deputy tells his colleagues, “Hold the air. I’m code 4. She’s re-racking a round inside the shotgun. She’s racked a round in the shotgun. The windows are busted on the patio side. If she’ comes out she’s going to have the shotgun.” The standoff lasted for approximately 30 minutes.
Moments later, Jackson is struck by a bullet and her accomplice surrenders his weapon in the aftermath. Jackson was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries but later listed in stable condition after she underwent surgery on Thursday.
