On March 26, Zay — who just recently did a peace walk in February from Philly to the South (Richmond, Virginia) — shared a post on Instagram revealing his latest missionary-esque trip across the country. He vowed to walk over 3,000 miles in over 100 days with 1 mission: to “build a trade school for teens” called HMBL University.
After beginning his walk from Philly to Cali on March 26, Zay made it to Indiana on Tuesday (April 28). Like with all of his other long-distance treks, he’s been documenting the entire journey on his Twitch stream. In a clip cut from the stream and posted to his Instagram, he announced his arrival to “the Hoosier State.”
He shared a photo of him in front a “Welcome To Indiana” sign on the highway. Over the photo, he wrote, “Walk from Philly to Cali. Made it 650 miles on foot to Indiana. 2 states down, 7 to go.” However, within four hours, his next post on Instagram was a video of him getting off the ground after being involved in a car accident.

In the clip, the car behind Zay — which was driven by a friend trailing him for safety purposes — was rear-ended by another car, thus propelling his spotter to run into him. In a second post from the accident, Zay shows off the scene of the accident and the aftermath.
Within 2 hours, Zay shared another Instagram post. He was laid up in a hospital bed with a neck brace on. He thanked his supporters for checking in on him. Zay updated:
“I’m good. We just running some tests right now. We gonna finish this race. We ain’t gonna let the devil win. We gonna make sure that we finish this marathon that God put me on. God is the greatest. I’m alive and that’s all that matters.”
In another video, Zay shut down claims that the car directly behind him (his spotter) was to blame. He continued to share that authorities and medical officials are “still trying to figure out how [he’s] still alive.” He also vowed to keep his “promise to God” and continue on with his trek across America.
