On Saturday , the former president expressed his disdain over the 2020 Election results after internal Twitter emails showed writers from the New York Post discussing how to address a story about Hunter Biden. “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” he wrote.

Trump also claimed “Big Tech” companies were conspiring with Democrats so they could win the election. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!” he exclaimed. However, his statements were denounced by White House spokeperson Andrew Bates on Saturday.

“You cannot only love America when you win. The American Constitution is a sacrosanct document that for over 200 years has guaranteed that freedom and the rule of law prevail in our great country. The Constitution brings the American people together – regardless of party – and elected leaders swear to uphold it. It’s the ultimate monument to all of the Americans who have given their lives to defeat self-serving despots that abused their power and trampled on fundamental rights.”

However, Trump quickly released a statement after having dinner with the pair.

Twitter react to Trump‘s statement about the Constitution

Trump supporters and opposers had different opinions about his statement. Some claim he didn’t literally call for the termination of the Constitution but simply stated he was addressing the alleged voter fraud from the 2020 Election. One of Trump’s known critics, Liz Cheney, called him an “enemy” of the Constitution over the Truth Social post.

Trump didn’t respond to the backlash but his supporters were accusing Democrats of twisting his words and taking it out of context.
