Donald Trump Snubs Twitter & Promotes Truth Social Upon Elon Musk Restoring His Account: ‘I Don’t See Me Going Back’

Amid the party on Twitter, celebrating Musk reinstating Trump’s account, Trump has recently admitted that he isn’t really interested in going back to the platform that banned him over his tweets that are reported to have caused the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2020.

While joining in via a video call, Trump appeared at a conference with the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas. Just hours before his Twitter account was unbanned, Trump appeared to snub the platform, while promoting his own, Truth Social.

Although Trump noted the issues over at Twitter, he did praise Musk, who again has taken recent control of Twitter back in October.

Trump said, “I like that he bought it. I’ve always liked him. I got along with him very well during my days as President, and I got to know him pretty well. I’ve always liked him. He’s a character and I tend to like characters. He’s smart. He did put up a poll and I hear it’s very overwhelming and very strong — but I have something that’s Trump-owned and it’s really fantastic — Truth Social.

And Truth Social is through the roof. It’s doing phenomenally well. Engagement is much better than it is on Twitter … Truth Social has been very, very powerful and very very, strong. I’ll be staying there.”

As to whether he will be rejoining the others Musk unbanned on Twitter, Trump later said, “I don’t see it because I don’t see any reason for it. They had a lot of problems at Twitter. They may make it, they may not, but the problems are incredible. The engagement is negative. But, Truth Social has taken its place for a lot of  people.”

Previously, Musk spoke at a Financial Times conference on his thoughts about Donald Trump being banned from Twitter, prior to Musk buying the company.

He said, “I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake. It alienated the country and did not result in Donald Trump not having a voice. I think it was a morally bad decision and foolish in the extreme.”
