A Florida daycare worker was arrested after she broke a child’s leg for misbehaving throughout the day.

WFLA reports 24-year-old Estefany Acosta was arrested after she sat on the leg of a three-year-old boy for misbehaving. A police report states the boy’s mother dropped him off at the Early Learning Academy in Boca Raton around 7:15 a.m. on Jan.10. Around 11 a.m., the child’s father received a call from staff saying his son sustained a leg injury after kicking a leather chair but he did not think to pick up the boy since he only had a bump on his shin. When his mother picked him up from school, the child appeared to be in pain and urinated on himself. She added that her son was shivering and didn’t eat any food during his day at the center.

He was taken to the West Boca Medical Center after the boy told his mother that Acosta sat on his leg and couldn’t walk or stand. Doctors diagnosed him with a fractured leg.

Owner Jeneille Como told police that Acosta was the only teacher present during the incident and told her the story about the boy kicking the metal chair. However, Acosta became nervous when officials told her the classroom was under video surveillance.

“She got nervous and changed her story. Acosta claimed that the child could have been injured when she accidentally fell on him,”
