Socialites, a father was killed in Brooklyn on Thursday morning, while his two daughters were stabbed during a “home invasion.” But according to the New York Post, police believe what they initially considered a burglary may have actually been a staged murder by his own child. The eldest daughter — who is a 22-year-old transgender — told cops that a group of robbers broke into their Bensonhurst house just before 6 AM and demanded that her dad, 61-year-old Carlo Secondino, gave up all of his money from a safe.
She claimed they were later stabbed by the thieves, but police were puzzled by the statement since Carlo did not possess a safe, to begin with. The youngest daughter, 19, was rushed to a nearby hospital at the Maimonides Medical Center where she remained in critical condition while her sibling — who The Post claim may have murdered her dad — was taken to NYU Langone Hospital to recover from a minor injury. The dad died at the scene.
Per the aforementioned publication, there have been countless reports of domestic violence in the family household this past year, such as Carlo allegedly threatening to kill his youngest daughter, while another occasion allegedly saw him backhand his trans daughter. If that wasn’t enough, the youngest daughter was charged with assault and criminal mischief after destroying the window blinds following a heated argument with her sister.
Police confirmed that the family didn’t have a safe at their home and are now trying to piece together enough evidence to find the people responsible for the senseless crime. Sources for The Post asserted that the older sister may have lied to cops about the home invasion to cover her tracks on plotting to kill her own father.
Brooklyn has seen a heap of crimes take place in the borough this past week, including an incident on Christmas Day where Swedish tourists were robbed at a subway station. The 30-year-old woman and 31-year-old man were approached by a male who “simulated a firearm” before demanding that they gave up their personal belongings.

Police said the man got away with a bunch of items from the pair, including their wallets, mobile phones, purse, and cash. The crime came the same week a Queens man had his iPhone snatched by two teenagers who would go on to make purchases on the man’s Amazon account without his knowledge.
Brooklyn has built up a reputation for its high crime rate in the last few years — particularly when it comes to cases taking place at subway stations. Socialites, out of all the boroughs in New York, would Brooklyn be a location you could call home?
