Ashlee Jenae’s fiancé Joe McCann is attempting to clear his name once and for all as he shares a treasure trove of receipts and shares his side of the story — in which he: claims he agreed to call off their engagement before Jenae’s alleged suicide; alleges Jenae suffered from childhood trauma and declining mental health; alleges she sent troubling messages to loved ones and ChatGPT.
As we previously shared, the late influencer, born Ashlee Jenae Robinson, was found unconscious in her Zanzibar, Tanzania villa on April 9 after celebrating her 31st birthday and getting engaged on April 5.
After McCann found her, hotel staff and local authorities attempted to render aid, but to no avail. Officials officially ruled her death a suicide — despite her parents and sister claiming she would never harm herself.
Police Clear Joe McCann Of Any Criminal Charges As Officials Rule Fiancée Ashlee Jenae’s Death A Suicide
Earlier this month, police officially cleared McCann of any criminal charges. However, the court of public opinion had already convicted him from day one. So, he began fighting to clear his name with the public.
On June 4, he began posting his POV and receipts on Instagram under the handle @i.cannot.tell.you. McCann also created a website where he shared an interview with TMZ’s Charlie Neff — further telling his side.
Joe McCann Alleges Fiancée Ashlee Jenae Suffered From Mental Health Issues Before Apparent Suicide Death
McCann began by alleging Jenae suffered from childhood trauma but hid it from everyone, including her family. He continued to allege that as she silently suffered from declining mental health, she learned she may not be able to conceive children. He said that only worsened her alleged depression and anxiety.
McCann said Jenae picked Zanzibar for her birthday and planned the whole trip. However, once they arrived, her recently-growing “outbursts” continued. McCann said during one of their heated arguments, Jenae told him to go ahead and call off their engagement — to which he refused.
Eventually, he gave in and he claims she destroyed her villa and ended up ending her life. McCann also shared alleged troubling messages Jenae sent to family, friends, and ChatGPT over the years. McCann also told TMZ that in Jenae’s honor, he is planning to create a nonprofit foundation dedicated to preventing self-harm.
