After Young Thug shared a sentimental throwback photo of his late brother-in-arms, some folks in the comments started acting brand new, accusing Jeff of “switching up” on Quan before he passed.

Y’all know Thugger doesn’t do the back-and-forth often, but he had time today. He took to his IG Stories to set the record straight on where his loyalty has always landed, and he didn’t hold back.
Thug made it clear that he isn’t the one who folded when things got shaky. He posted:
“No n—a on this earth goin tell u I switched up on them n—- I’m the definition of loyalty, And almost every n—- I no has switched on me at least once.”
He even broke down the politics behind some of his old beefs, revealing that he was really out here crashing out for Quan even when it wasn’t his fight.
“I didn’t f—k with [YFN Lucci] cause Quan didn’t. He felt like Lucci did a song with a n—a that dissed him on the song. Wasn’t my problem but was my brada so I was with him, then he stop f—ng with me cause he thought he was bigger alone witch I had no problem with but now y’all pu—s wanna post bout a real n—a to quan.”
He ended off by making it clear, “@Richhomiequan went against me my n—a, how was it my pride? If you homie do some bullshit towards u u suppose to reach out first?”
The Rise, the Rift, and the Loss
For years, fans have been trying to pinpoint exactly why the most legendary duo of the 2010s stopped making that magic. Thugger addressed the talk about “pride” keeping them apart, specifically.
To understand why this is so heavy, you gotta remember the Rich Gang days. In 2014, Thug and Quan were the undisputed kings of the Atlanta sound. From “Lifestyle” to Tha Tour Part 1, they weren’t just a duo—they were family. But as they both blew up, solo ambitions and industry whispers pulled them in different directions.By 2015, the “hubbies” had stopped recording together, and despite years of fans begging for a reunion, they mostly moved in silence apart from the occasional sub or interview mention.
The hope for a public reconciliation was tragically cut short on September 5, 2024, when Rich Homie Quan passed away at his home in Atlanta. The Fulton County Medical Examiner later confirmed that the 34-year-old rapper died from an accidental overdose involving a mix of fentanyl, alprazolam, and other substances.
It’s deep to see Thugger defending his name while still mourning his brother from behind the scenes. At the end of the day, loyalty isn’t just a word to him, it’s a lifestyle.
