Welp, Baton Rouge rap star Boosie Badazz is currently finding out the hard way that these political streets are just as cold. After forking over $600,000 to a pair of notorious, far-right political operatives to secure a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, Boosie is left empty handed.
As previously reported, Boosie, legal name Torence Hatch Jr., hired lobbyists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman of JM Burkman & Associates to slide him a clean slate before his federal gun sentencing. According to Boosie, these guys were acting like they “had Trump on speed dial” and even allegedly calling his defense attorney, Meghan Blanco, on New Year’s Day to lie and say the president had already signed the paperwork. But when the clock struck midnight and no pardon materialized, Boosie demanded half his money back ($300k) per a refund clause in their contract, only for the duo to claim they’re broke and refuse to pay!

Now, the White House is stepping in to clear the air. A White House official made it clear in an exclusive statement to Loren LoRosa, saying that they do not support Wohl or Burkman, and any desperate attempt to use them for clemency is a fast track to getting your application thrown in the trash. The White House’s official statement laid it out plain and simple:
The White House did receive something from Maghan Blanco re: “Boosie Badazz.” Receipt of documents should not be taken to mean anything other than documents have been received. The President is the ultimate decider on any clemency related actions.
The team at the White House working on clemency has never heard from Wohl or Burkman, does not support their work, and would advise anyone seeking clemency that their involvement will actively harm their chances.
The President finds it detestable that anyone would even attempt to profit off pardons.
This devastating blow comes right after Boosie took to social media to put the lobbyists on blast. In a post on X, Boosie wrote: <blockquote>“I GAVE U 3 MONTHS TO SEND MY MONEY BACK‼️ TALKING ABOUT TRUMP SIGNED THE PARDON. GOT ME RUNNING AROUND THE DAM HOUSE JUMPING 😜😜SAYING U JUST TALKED TO THE PRESIDENT ‼️ U PLAYED WITH THE WRONG ONE .IM SUING YALL N FEDERAL COURT NOW.”</blockquote>
Wohl and Burkman, who previously pleaded guilty to running an illegal robocall campaign targeting Black voters back in 2022, are trying to wash their hands of the situation. Burkman even tried to justify keeping the bag, telling reporters, “Boosie has no reason to be unhappy… we tried very, very hard.” But with the White House openly calling their operation “detestable,” the only thing Wohl and Burkman successfully lobbied for was a front row seat to Boosie’s legal wrath.
