Authorities believe Micha J. Beals, 37 is the man that was caught on video riding a skateboard and throwing a cut of white paint on the statue of George Floyd.
Beals was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m and is currently being charged with criminal mischief which could land Beals a prison sentence of 1 to 3 years without any prior felony convictions.
As previously reported, this isn’t the first time that George Floyd’s Statue was defaced. Back in June four men wearing bandanas were seen spraying graffiti on his statue.
The statue of George Floyd that is located in Union Square was vandalized with paint not even 48 hours after it was unveiled to the public.
