Welp, comedian Kathy Griffin decided to shake up social media this week. At 65 years old, the veteran entertainer proved she is living life completely on her own terms by going Instagram official with a brand new mystery man who is a whopping 43 years her junior.
Taking to her page, Kathy posted a photo of herself looking fully glammed up, holding hands with a young ginger haired man in a black polo and sneakers as he opened the door to an SUV. Clearly knowing that the massive age gap would have the comment section in a complete chokehold, Kathy kept her caption blunt, petty, and straight to the point, writing, “He’s 22. Have at it, internet.”
As expected, social media users immediately took the bait and flooded the post, causing a massive divide between people cheering her on and folks who found the age dynamic strange.
Some fans jumped in to defend the comedian, with one writing, “If he is opening the car door for you, keep him. More class at 22 than most men.” Others were quick to point out the blatant double standard in Hollywood, noting that if a 65-year-old man hard-launched a 22-year-old girl, the public outrage would look completely different.

Kathy, however, isn’t losing any sleep over the chatter, later dropping into her own comment section to write, “I AM DYING AT THESE COMMENTS.”
This isn’t the first time Kathy has secured herself a certified Gen-Z baddie. Just last year, following her messy divorce from ex-husband Randy Bick, she wrote a deeply personal essay opening up about falling for a 23-year-old. At the time, she praised younger men for lacking the baggage of older generations, stating, “Because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases that guys my age tend to have. He seemed to see me.”
While she ultimately chose to “set that dove free” because they were at completely different stages in life, it looks like Kathy is officially back on her cougar wave, and she couldn’t care less what the internet has to say about it.
