A Florida man has been arrested after authorities say he choked his ex-girlfriend before allegedly throwing a backpack filled with feces, urine, hot sauce, and other substances on her as revenge for allegedly cheating on him.
According to Law & Crime , 20-year-old Daniel Niemiec has been charged with domestic battery by strangulation and two counts of domestic violence battery. A probable cause arrest affidavit was filed after the victim’s brother contacted the Coral Springs Police Department by email.
Victim Reportedly Sent Distressing Text Message
Investigators said the alleged abuse began weeks before Niemiec’s arrest. According to court documents, the victim’s mother received a text message from her daughter around 2 a.m. on June 2 that read:
“I love him, but he just hurt me, he choked me and hit me.”
During a July 1 interview with investigators, the victim alleged she and Niemiec were having sex at his apartment when he began slapping her multiple times. She told detectives she repeatedly asked him to stop, but claimed he continued.
After being read his Miranda rights, Niemiec allegedly told investigators he did not hear her tell him to stop.
Police Detail Alleged Strangulation and Backpack Incident
Authorities say another incident occurred on June 30 during an argument between the former couple.
According to the arrest affidavit, Niemiec allegedly placed both hands around the victim’s neck, causing her to struggle to breathe before releasing her. The following day, investigators say the victim returned to Niemiec’s apartment with a friend to retrieve her belongings.
Police allege Niemiec came outside carrying her backpack before dumping its contents onto her. According to investigators, the backpack allegedly contained urine, feces, ketchup, hot sauce, and other fluids.
Authorities say Niemiec admitted to throwing the backpack and allegedly told investigators it was “payback” because he believed the victim had cheated on him. Niemiec was arrested and booked on charges of domestic battery by strangulation and two counts of domestic violence battery.
