Tamar Braxton Opens Up About Suicide Attempt, Says She Thought Her Son Would Be Better Without Her
In a new episode of “Peace of Mind With Taraji,” singer and reality star Tamar Braxton opens up about her suicide attempt and admits that she thought her 7-year-old son, Logan, would be better off without her.
In the heartbreaking clip, Braxton, 43 explains, “Logan was the reason why I made that decision. I just felt like he deserved better. I felt like I was embarrassing him, being a fool on TV.” “You thought he would be better without you?” host Taraji P. Henson asked, with Braxton replying, “I thought in that moment.”
The singer went on to tearfully explain, “Because I knew that’s not what my whole life really was. That’s not who I was. I didn’t want him to be embarrassed in front of his friends,” Braxton adds. “Here is this loudmouth ghetto mama.”
As we previously reported, the Braxton Family Values star was found unresponsive on July 16 at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles. Braxton was then transferred to a local hospital facility to receive more specialized mental health treatment. She previously said she had contemplated suicide long before her attempt this year. However, her famous sisters have admitted they had no idea what Tamar was going through in her private life.
In the rest of Henson’s upcoming episode, titled “Surviving Mental Breakdown With Tamar Braxton,” Tamar continues to open up about her suicide attempt and mental breakdown.
HU Exclusive: Tamar Braxton’s Ex David Adefeso Was Allegedly Spotted Out With Another Woman Days After Big Breakup
Hollywood Unlocked exclusively reports that sources close to David Adefeso are saying that this is his girlfriend. Apparently, they have reportedly been together before and during the time he and Tamar were in a relationship! The source notes that David had allegedly been cheating on the singer since earlier this year, and as soon as their relationship ended recently, he boo’d up with his girlfriend/employee on a more formal basis, as the photo shows them vacationing together. It’s been said that this is the real reason why Tamar officially called it quits.
The source also notes that David is now using his “newfound fame” and “false accusations” against Tamar to “raise his own profile and his business,” adding that “he lied on Tamar and accused her of hitting him, just to make himself out to be the victim.” The source also claims that “there are photos and a video of the incident.”

As it was previously reported by The Blast, sources close to Braxton, 43, claimed that ex-boyfriend, David, was the aggressor in a recent domestic violence incident where she claims he assaulted her and threatened to kill her in a “murder-suicide.” It was said that the ex-couple got into a heated altercation while driving to check the reality star into a mental health facility for treatment. The Blast notes that on the way, Tamar questioned Adefeso about an Instagram he shared featuring her 7-year-old son, Logan Herbert. From there, they began arguing and Tamar reportedly told David he was “around for the wrong reasons and could not be trusted.”
The source told the news site that David became “irate, threatening not only her life but his own,” adding that David said “they were going to end up in a “murder-suicide,” The Blast quotes.
Now, in a recent video posted to Instagram, David switched gears, stating that Braxton was the aggressor in that situation; claiming he was left with bruises. He said this while explaining why he recently filed a restraining order against her.

After news broke earlier today about David Adefeso reportedly filing a domestic violence restraining order against girlfriend Tamar Braxton, The Blast reports that the R&B songstress now claims Adefeso threatened to kill her in a murder-suicide.
Sources tell the publication that the pair got into a heated argument while they were on their way to check the reality star into a mental health facility. It began after Braxton questioned Adefeso about an Instagram post he uploaded with her son, Logan Herbert. During the fight, Braxton told Adefeso he was “around for the wrong reasons and could not be trusted.”
Subsequently, she says he became “irate, threatening not only her life but his own,” adding that they’d end up in a “murder-suicide.” The publication says the argument turned violent when Adefeso reportedly “grabbed her hard” on the arms, causing bruising. Braxton claims she only grabbed onto her Adefeso after he got physical. While noting that photos of the injuries exist, the publication says Braxton refused to call the police “because she wasn’t trying to ruin [Adefeso’s] business;” however, sources say he ended up calling the authorities himself.
Furthermore, sources close to the singer add, “Any claims that Ms. Braxton was the aggressor and/or abusive are completely false and have no merit. David Adefeso has been upset and abusive since seeing his own true colors on Tamar’s upcoming television show and has been taking it out on Tamar ever since.”
UPDATE: Tamar Braxton Finally Released By We tv, New Show Will Still Air
As we previous reported, following Tamar Braxton’s apparent suicide attempt on July 16 at an L.A. hotel, the singer and reality star opened up about the incident, revealing that she suffered years of mistreatment in reality TV which pushed her to the edge.
The 43-year-old said she wrote a letter to WE tv over two months ago asking to be freed from her contract because of the “demise” she was experiencing. Sources also told TMZ that she was upset over her portrayal on the first episode of “Get Ya Life!” and felt like producers were using her childhood trauma to boost ratings.
According to the latest updates by the news site, the network has finally decided to honor her request and sever ties with her. WE tv says: “Tamar Braxton has been an important part of our network family for more than a decade. As she focuses on her health and recovery at what is clearly a difficult and personal time, we will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network.” However, the network says it will still air her new show.
“Get Ya Life!’ will air as it was intended — the network will not be changing the show or further editing based on Tamar’s complaints” statement read via to TMZ. They wished her the the best while confirming that her new series will premiere Sept. 10.
