The 89-year-old wealthy magnate ended his life after jumping from his Park Avenue apartment around 5 a.m. and close sources said he suffered from Parkinson’s Disease. Tober is responsible for making the artificial sweetener Sweet N Low a household name and a staple for restaurants to place on their counters and tables for customers.

“He was bigger than life, He made everybody feel special — everybody. He’s an icon and he’ll always be.”

Odell also added Tober didn’t show any signs of being suicidal and they spoke on the phone a day before his death.
“He was much more than just one product. A thousand people a second use our products. Donald left us with eight words, and we live them every day. The first two words are ‘Be prepared.’ The second are ‘Show up.’ The third two words are ‘On time.’ And the last two are ‘Follow through.’
Tober is survived by his wife Barbara, the editor-in-chief of Brides magazine.
