LisaRaye has never been the type to whisper her opinions, and she’s not about to start now. The Players Club icon is back in the headlines after a convo with Carlos King, where she made it clear she has zero beef with Yung Miami, even while standing on her honest take about “Spend Dat.”
As we previously reported, Yung Miami chopped it up with radio host Lore’l and said her video for the song was actually a nod to The Players Club. While she didn’t give much energy to the topic, it was clear it bothered her hearing Lisa saying she didn’t like record after being seen dancing to it.
Lisa clearly caught wind of that interview and gave her reaction. She began by telling Carlos that never even clocked the homage. “I wanna say this too, though, to Yung Miami,” she told King. “I did not have no idea that you paid homage to Players Club, that you had a video to pay homage to us. I didn’t know, and I didn’t see it at all. For that, I thank you. But don’t let them tear us apart and make you think that I am doing a personal attack against you. It is not. Your music is what you want it to be. It’s for your fan base. And if I helped it rise to the top for you, it is no hard feelings, baby. I like you. Do your thing. Do your thing.”
She added, “And maybe the next song, I could be in the video, and who knows? I may not like that one either, but you know what? Who gives a fuck? Do you.”
“Spend Dat” is a No. 1 Rap Airplay hit that climbed to No. 17 on the Hot 100, so Miami clearly doesn’t need Lisa’s stamp of approval.
But will Lisa pop up in the next Yung Miami video? She’s already tossed the invitation back across the table. If it happens, you already know the internet will lose its whole mind.
