R. Kelly is already serving 30 years in prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking young girls, but the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is expected to return to the courtroom next month for yet another trial. The 55-year-old is facing federal charges for producing child pornography and luring minors into sexual activities, which is why he’s determined in prohibiting prosecutors from discussing his relationship and marriage to the late Aaliyah.
As previously reported, Pastor Nathan Edmond testified last year that R. Kelly did in fact marry the “Rock The Boat” songstress when she was just 15 years old and allegedly obscured her face so that people wouldn’t be able to see her true age. Now, according to Radar Online, his legal team is determined in scratching off any topics concerning the ex-couple’s relationship during the trial in hopes that their client will avoid an additional sentence on top of the 30 years he’s already facing.
This is the reason R.Kelly got 30 years! Cause he thought we was too late! His Chicago trial starts on August 15. He’s Facing Obstruction of Justice and his Child Porn Charges all over AGAIN! No, it will not be double jeopardy & I can’t wait for the trial to start 😩 pic.twitter.com/Z6x07kLV9b

Per the publication, R. Kelly has been transferred over to Illinois, Chicago, where the trial will commence on August 15 as he gears up to face a second jury to contend four child pornography counts, five additional enticement counts, and three counts connected to receiving child pornography. His attorneys have filed a motion, saying that prosecutors shouldn’t be allowed to bring up any claims of a sexual relationship with Aaliyah because she is deceased, “including evidence that [Kelly] married Aaliyah in 1994 when she was underage.”
Aaliyah married the then-27-year-old R. Kelly, who is said to have bribed a state official in order to get his hands on a fake ID for the “One In A Million” vocalist.
But that’s not all: attorneys representing the disgraced sex offender also want to avoid any uncharged allegations of women who say they were abused by the star not being brought up as it doesn’t pertain to the case by any means.
Sadly this is the root of just about every abuse against children. Whether it’s the parents of the girls R Kelly exploited, the slow rollback of child labor laws, or the dysfunctional foster care system, kids have been mere pawns to be a means to an end

“The voluminous discovery, in this case, reveals that scores of women have accused [Kelly] of engaging in varying forms of mistreatment toward them,” his lawyer wrote in recently filed court documents. “The government has not provided notice of any intent to offer such additional evidence. [Kelly] moves to bar any additional uncharged allegations of misconduct.”
R. Kelly has also requested that the court does not bring up any allegations of having impregnated his accusers and assisting them in getting abortions, having already gotten word that there are two women who plan to testify that they were expecting his baby but insisted on helping them terminate the pregnancy.
