Searchlight Pictures is no longer taking on Jonathan Majors’ movie “Magazine Dreams” following his guilty verdict. According to PEOPLE, the independent sports drama that premiered during the 2023 Sundance Film Festival last January is currently searching for a new home.
In the movie, Jonathan Majors plays a character named Killian Maddox who is an aspiring bodybuilder struggling with physical and mental health. A Sundance Film Festival synopsis for Magazine Dreams described Majors’ character in the film as “obsessively working out between court-mandated therapy appointments and part-time shifts at a grocery store where he harbors a crush on a friendly cashier.”

“Though Killian’s struggles to read social cues and maintain control of his volatile temper amplify his sense of disconnection amid a hostile world, nothing deters him from his fiercely protected dream of bodybuilding superstardom, not even the doctors who warn that he’s causing permanent damage to his body with his quest,” the synopsis reads. But unfortunately for Majors ever since the actor was found guilty on misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment last month it seems the film has been dropped by its distributor.
Despite Jonathan Majors doing an interview to try and get people back on his side, he was also dropped from Dennis Rodman’s movie “48 Hours In Vegas” after his guilty verdict.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate has chose to no longer develop the film and now they are going to present it to other potential buyers. 48 Hours in Vegas features a script from Jordan VanDina that focuses on Chicago Bulls forward Rodman taking a mind-clearing trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals, according to the report.

As we previously reported, hours after Majors was found guilty on assault and harassment charges Disney cut ties with the actor for his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the conviction Marcel and Disney immediately dropped Majors from all upcoming projects. Majors had earlier planned to be a central figure throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the antagonist role of Kang. Majors had already appeared in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and the first two seasons of “Loki.” He was to star in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” dated for release in May 2026.
