On Monday evening (October 26), Halle Berry’s Instagram account shared a post seemingly shading her ex-husband Olivier Martinez amid their messy custody battle.
The couple share 13-year-old son Maceo-Robert Martinez. However, sources tell TMZ that the actress did not post the cryptic quote and that her team is investigating how it even went live.
On Berry’s Instagram Story, it appeared as if she reposted a quote that read, “If kids disrespect their mom, the root cause often traceback to their relationship with the father.. 💯.“ The post has since been deleted, but appears to shade Berry’s ex Martinez.
Halle Berry And Olivier Martinez Battle For Custody Of 13-Year-Old Son Maceo-Robert Martinez
The two have been battling in court with allegations of abuse and more. Last month, Martinez filed a restraining order, alleging Berry physically abused their son during an alleged incident on September 26. On October 1, Berry denied choking her son as a judge granted Martinez a temporary restraining order and temporary primary custody of their son, who turned 13 on October 5.
By October 15, Martinez submitted a photo into evidence, which he claims he son took. Martinez also alleges it shows Berry after an alleged incident with their child. Berry fired back and said the photo doesn’t prove she did anything wrong.
On October 26, the aforementioned shady photo went live on Berry’s account. And according to Martinez’s legal team, it went live after a judge closed evidence. On Tuesday (October 27), Berry and Martinez were back in court.
Olivier Martinez’s Lawyers Ask Judge To Reopen Evidence To Submit Shady Instagram Post Posted To Halle Berry’s Instagram
According to Page Six, Martinez’s lawyer, Patrick Baghdaserians, asked Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shelley Kaufman to reopen evidence to enter the new Instagram Story post. Berry’s lawyer, Marina Beck, fired back and called the move a “last-minute grasp at straws, nothing more than a witch hunt,” intentionally done in front of reporters in court.
Beck added, “They just intended to re-open evidence and continue their false narrative.” Baghdaserians countered and said he didn’t care for the presence of media. He continued to highlight how the post appeared on Berry’s personal Instagram immediately after evidence closed.
Baghdaserians argued, “This sort of conduct is the reason we are here today.” He further alleged the post was “disturbing [his] client’s peace, disturbing [his] client’s calm.” However, Judge Kaufman ultimately denied the motion to reopen evidence.
After nearly two weeks of trial, a decision in the custody case is expected on Thursday (October 28).
