A former Chick-fil-A employee in Texas is currently behind bars after allegedly cooking up a scheme to steal over $80,000 from his former workplace—all centered around macaroni and cheese.
The “Refund” Scheme
According to FOX 4 Dallas, Keyshun Jones was fired from his position at a Texas Chick-fil-A in October 2025. However, being off the payroll didn’t stop him from returning to the scene of the crime. Just one month after his termination, the restaurant owner noticed a massive financial discrepancy and contacted the police.
Surveillance footage reportedly caught Jones behind the counter without authorization. The details of the alleged heist are staggering. Jones reportedly used a register to ring up roughly 800 orders of macaroni and cheese trays. Instead of serving the food, he allegedly issued immediate refunds for those massive orders directly to his personal credit cards.
Authorities said that the transactions reportedly totaled more than $80,000.
A Game of Hide and Seek
While the paper trail was clear, finding Jones proved to be more difficult. Authorities state that he successfully avoided arrest on several occasions throughout late 2025 and early 2026.
His run finally came to an end on April 17, when the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department tracked him down and took him into custody. He faces charges of property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest.
