Diddy’s prison release date has been pushed back after a report last week claimed it was pushed up following his brawl inside FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional facility in New Jersey.
Timeline Of Diddy’s Ever-Changing Prison Release Date
On October 3, 2025, a judge first sentenced the mogul to 50 months (4 years, 2 months) in prison for violating the Mann Act. The charges included two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He also received 5 years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.
On October 27, 2025, the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) announced Diddy’s initial prison release, set for May 8, 2028. By November 2025, it was temporarily pushed back to June 2028. The decision came after unconfirmed reports of him committing prison infractions, which his team denied. At the time, Diddy was accused of making a prohibited personal three-way call. This left him at risk of losing his phone and commissary privileges for 90 days.
Since he’s serving federal time, he is not eligible for parole, only good behavior credits. Officials ended up doing the math and ruled that Diddy — who was initially arrested back in September 2024 — could serve about 85% of his time if he kept his head down and kept out of trouble.
Diddy’s Latest Prison Release Date Set For February 20, 2028 After Brawl
As time behind bars progressed, Diddy, 56, did just that. So by March 2, 2026, his prison release date was moved up to April 2028. Then, on June 16, 2026, BOP records reflected an expedited release date of February 23, 2028.
However, on July 24, it was reported that Diddy was put in the hole at Fort Dix. He allegedly badly beat a man up. He was accused of “choking a man out” during a prison brawl. According to Page Six, citing TMZ, Diddy was dissed and allegedly “took matters into his own hands.” Prison guards separated the men. They placed Diddy, who “held his own” during the incident, into solitary confinement, reportedly for 30 days.
Despite the prison brawl, it was then reported on July 29, that Diddy’s prison release date was moved up once again. He was then set to be released on January 24, 2028. Nearly a week later, TMZ reports that BOP officials have walked back the decision to move up Diddy’s release after the prison brawl. The mogul’s latest date has been pushed back to February 20, 2028.
