This comes two days after Trump agreed to a transition of power, after Democrats called for him to be impeached due to his poor handling of the DC Capitol riots. In a statement released, Trump addressed the American people and said, “Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump said after Congress certified his defeat, CNN reported. “I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.”

Trump’s decision to skip Biden’s swearing-in ceremony also comes after weeks of his refusal to acknowledge that Biden had defeated him in the Nov. 3 election but he finally acknowledged his loss in a video on Thursday, saying that a new administration will take office in January.
