UPDATE: DC Police Release Photos Of Suspects In US Capitol Siege
The FBI and the DC Metropolitan Police have been “working” to catch hundreds of Trump supporters who stormed through the Capitol on Wednesday and caused chaos.
As we previously reported, a bunch of pro-Trump rioters rampaged through the Capitol and violently forced their way into a session of Congress, delaying the counting of the electoral votes cast in the 2020 presidential election; as lawyers were forced to evacuate. According to the Daily Mail, 68 people have been arrested so far in connection to the violent siege that came as Congress was certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s win. However, the FBI and DC Police are still searching for at least 36 more suspects who stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday.
Police in Washington, DC, has released dozens of photos of the alleged suspects.
“We still have a significant amount of work ahead of us to identify and hold each and every one of the violent mob accountable for their actions,” DC Police Chief Robert Contee said at a briefing, according to the New York Post. “We have collected numerous images of persons of interest that we are asking the community to helps us identify,” he said. “These images depict individuals engaged in various acts of violence or property destruction.”
Trump finally condemned the horrible actions in a video message posted to Twitter on Thursday, just a day after he initially encouraged his supporters to march down to the Capitol.
