Tv director and producer Lee Daniels believes he has found the answer to the shocking news about Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson.

As we previously reported, Don Lemon was fired abruptly from CNN after being with the network for 17 years. Shortly after, it was also announced that Tucker Carlson parted ways with Fox News as well. Many celebrities have gave their thoughts on the situation and now Lee Daniels shared an idea that he feels like “could possibly unite the country.”

“I got this idea and I want y’all boys to think about this,” Daniels began saying. “Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson, if I were a smart executive I’d put them both on the same tv show. How bananas would the rating be? And I think it could possibly unite the country too.”

Once the news began making headlines Monday, Lemon took to his Twitter account and revealed he was “stunned” by the decision.

“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned,” he tweeted in a fiery post. “After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play. With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”

Now for Carlson it seems like he was aware of his departure because Fox announced that the decision was mutual on both parties. “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st,” the network wrote. “Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
