Diddy was reportedly taken off the prison grounds in the dead of night for a head injury, and nobody is saying yet how he got hurt.

According to TMZ, sources at the New Jersey facility say Combs left early Saturday morning to get treatment for a head injury. The outlet reports an ambulance pulled out of the prison around 1 AM, and that it presumes he went to a nearby hospital, though that part isn’t confirmed.

The good news, if you want to call it that… is that the injury apparently wasn’t life-threatening, since sources say he was conscious and speaking when he was brought back before sunrise. The Bureau of Prisons hasn’t spoken on this one, and Combs’ camp hasn’t weighed in either.

This comes months after TMZ reported back in July that Combs got into a fight with another inmate and landed in solitary confinement. Photos that allegedly show that scuffle have been circulating online, though they haven’t been verified and neither the Bureau of Prisons nor his legal team has confirmed them. So the internet is already connecting dots, but connecting dots isn’t the same as confirming them. Right now, there’s no reporting that ties this injury to any altercation.

To note, Just last month, TMZ reported that Combs was sent back to the Special Housing Unit after an NBC News report described a VIP-style stay involving massages, fancy meals, contraband booze and inmates doing his chores. His representative has pushed back on the idea that he’s getting special treatment, saying he’s serving his sentence within the rules. And the calendar has been moving the wrong way. Bureau of Prisons records now list March 2, 2028 as his release date, up from January 21, 2028, a delay of about six weeks. The date has been bouncing around for months.

His spokesperson Juda Engelmayer has said, “We never know how or why the BOP calculates and posts these dates.”

As previously reported, Combs is serving 50 months after a 2025 conviction on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution, and he was acquitted on the racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He has also appealed. Before sentencing, he wrote to the judge: “I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs.” Whatever you think of that statement, he’s now learning that every day inside is a day he has to keep his record clean, and the past few months show that’s easier said than done.

This isn’t Combs’ first late-night hospital run, either. Back in early 2025, while he was locked up in Brooklyn, he was taken to a hospital around 10 p.m. for an MRI on his knee. The Bureau of Prisons’ standard line is that it doesn’t discuss health status or medical trips for anyone in custody. Expect more of the same silence this time.
