Junior Guzman’s mother Leandra Feliz is speaking out and standing in support of the family of Javits Frimpong — the 15-year-old boy who was recently killed in the Bronx, New York, where 15-year-old Junior was killed 8 years ago. Leandra spoke at a vigil last night held for Javits.
Father Of 15-Year-Old Javits Frimpong Says Son Was Bullied Before Fatal Bronx Shooting
As we previously shared, Javits was fatally shot in the abdomen on Thursday morning (October 29). His 60-year-old father, Thomas Frimpong, said his son left Ghana about a year ago to join him in the United States. Thomas and Javits’ mother, Doris Adu Gyamfi, sent their Ghanaian teen to America for a better life.
However, that life was tragically cut short. The DreamYard Preparatory School student was bullied and harassed up until his death. Thomas told reporters the school principal informed him about two students allegedly harassing Javits, and that both were suspended.
Thomas said his son previously revealed he was being picked on at lunch. When he told Javits to report it to the school, the teen confirmed that he already had. While speaking with reporters, Thomas also shared a message for whoever pulled the trigger on his son. He urged them to turn themselves in. He continued to declare that he doesn’t believe anyone gets away with killing an innocent child.
Junior Guzman’s Mother Stands With Family Of Javits Frimpong
As community leaders and celebrities speak up about (gun) violence in the Bronx, which has taken the life of Javits Frimpong, the mother of Junior Guzman also speaks out. Junior is the 15-year-old boy who was dragged from a bodega and fatally stabbed on June 20, 2018. He was attacked by a group of boys wielding knives and a machete.
He was killed in a case of mistaken identity. Trinitarios gang member Jonaiki Martinez-Estrella was found guilty of second-degree murder and re-sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on May 30, 2025 — after his original 2019 conviction for first-degree murder was overturned on appeal. Shortly after his re-sentencing, Martinez-Estrella died in custody on June 27, 2025, at the age of 31.
