Champion boxer Claressa Shields fired off a few tweets this morning after rapper Remy Ma changed up the lyrics during a recent performance to mention her estranged husband, and Claressa’s current boyfriend, rapper Papoose.

As we previously shared, the Bronx femcee took to the stage at Angie Martinez’s Summer BBQ music festival on Sunday (August 2). While performing her “W.Y.F.L.” track, Remy Ma ended up swapping some of her lyrics to include a mention of her estranged husband, and seemingly address Claressa as well.
Remy Ma initially dropped the track back in April. On it, she shut down rumors claiming Papoose was a ghostwriter for her. So, on the track, she originally rapped:
“I been her, since I was wearing bobos, b*tch. You get a bullet through your shirt where the logo is. The nerve of n***as, claiming that they wrote those hits. When they whole career they ain’t never ghostwrotе sh*t. Not for me or anybody else. You always acting likе you help a n***a, go help yourself. See I know what the problem is, I don’t really brag enough. But you don’t talk about prices when your bag is up.”
However, Remy changed the lyrics from “You always acting likе you help a n***a, go help yourself” to “You always acting likе you helping PAP, n***a, go help yourself.”
Before the performance, Remy also claimed she’s not yet “single single” because she’s still legally married to Pap — who filed for divorce back in May 2025. She also alleged he’s asking for half of everything in their settlement.
After the divorce filing news broke, Remy went live on Instagram explaining why she left Pap first. He clapped back on IG live and claimed he “wrote 90%” of her verses. Claressa also chimed in and told Remy to sign the divorce papers.

Claressa Shields Seemingly Reacts To Remy Ma Changing Lyrics During Performance To Mention Estranged Husband Papoose
The morning after Remy Ma’s performance naming Papoose, Claressa Shields took to her X account with a few tweets. She wrote, “Ha another clout chaser 😂.” In a second tweet, she wrote, “Unfazed in all aspects of my life. The big picture is real beautiful & I’m going to get there.”
In a third tweet, she wrote, “In training camp my mind is open so wide, my relationship with God is so much closer and I hear him clearly. He exposes attacks and wickedness before it reaches me and gives me the calmness to deal with whatever it is. I’m enjoying the good life. So much peace & happiness.”
