On the latest episode of REVOLT’s “The Jason Lee Show,” Yvette Nicole Brown sits down with HU Founder for a candid chat, discussing everything from the current writer’s strike to navigating Hollywood and meeting Janet Jackson.
Th actress, who is starring in the upcoming TV movie, “Blind Psychosis,” says that the current SAG-Aftra protest that’s been going on since May is not about rich actors getting more yachts for themselves.

The protest is to fight for people who are barely able to pay their bills and sustain a living with the earnings they are making in the filmmaking industry. She also touched on how the COVID pandemic in 2020 didn’t really bother her, as far as staying at home, since she’s an introvert who doesn’t live the home often.
Early into the interview, Brown also talks about her love for Janet Jackson, telling Lee that when she was growing up, there weren’t a lot of Black women in the industry to could be looked up in the same way as when Jackson and Kim Fields came around. These were two of her biggest idols, and still are.
Brown would go on to meet Jackson after “The Real” producers secured her tickets for a meet and greet with the singer. They formed a close bond when they did end up meeting – so much that when Brown’s mother passed, she received a phone call from Jackson and they spoke for two hours about overcoming grief.
