While many assumed that Will Smith’s career was over after his infamous Oscars outburst last month, it appears as if Hollywood studios are keeping the door open to continue their working relationship with the actor.

After reports claimed that Netflix had halted Will’s forthcoming projects on its platform following the controversy stemming from the incident involving Chris Rock, it’s now being reported that despite his 10-year Oscars ban, the 53-year-old will continue to remain booked and busy.

According to the Daily Star, Will is being “flooded with offers” from studios and streaming giants eager to work with the Hancock star, with one source insisting that the altercation at the Oscars ultimately wasn’t going to leave the Philadelphia struggling for his next acting gig because Hollywood “loves nothing more than a redemption story.”

While it’s unclear what sort of offers have been made to Will, an insider for the publication claims that smaller budget companies will most certainly want to bring him on board for their movies, mainly action flicks where they believe his name will draw significant numbers at the box office.

What’s Will Smith’s Next Move Post-Oscars?

Of course, Will’s star power will be put to the test once he releases his next film, as some producers are still hesitant to work with him in fear that the Oscars slap may have turned fans away from supporting the father-of-three. But the idea that Will could be officially canceled over the slapping fiasco is out of the question.

“It is very difficult for many to see a future for Mr Smith following the furore,” the source explained.

“But Hollywood has always dealt with things differently. This will not be the end for Smith. He still has allies in the business, who while silent now, feel that one mistake should not mean an end to a lifetime of entertaining audiences.”

It was further said that Will might also consider turning his attention to the smaller screen, where he could play a recurring role on an up-and-coming TV show, which the insider believes would perhaps be the best way for him to get back to his day job.

“Certainly, if he wanted to pick up work in smaller budget pieces, there will be options out there for him.”

Will left viewers stunned when he took to the Oscars stage to serve Chris with a slap after making a joke about Jada Pinkett’s buzz cut, a hairstyle which she’s been sporting since coming forward about her struggle with alopecia.

The Smiths have kept a relatively low profile in recent weeks. Still, according to Radar Online, Jada and her husband of 25 years plan to break their silence in an upcoming episode of Facebook’s Red Table Talk, produced and hosted by the Madagascar actress.
