Several users on social media have accused Wayfair of being involved in a global sex trafficking ring after a couple discovered the company was listing their product with the victims’ names with ridiculously high prices.

As reported by Newsweek, the discovery was first noted on Reddit when a couple was searching for a cabinet to store items in their garage. Reddit user PrincessPeach1987 made the following post when their products were named after missing victims Anabel Wilson, Kylah Coleman, Samara Duplessis, and Yaritza Castro.
They said, “Is it possible Wayfair involved in Human trafficking with their WFX Utility collection? Or are these just extremely overpriced cabinets? (Note the names of the cabinets) this makes me sick to my stomach if it’s true.” The poster who wished to remain anonymous said they are a part of an organization to save victims from sex trafficking and thought the posts were disturbing.

The company said in a statement to Newsweek stating the claims are false along with a reason for the high prices:
“There is, of course, no truth to these claims. The products in question are industrial grade cabinets that are accurately priced. Recognizing that the photos and descriptions provided by the supplier did not adequately explain the high price point, we have temporarily removed the products from the site to rename them and to provide a more in-depth description and photos that accurately depict the product to clarify the price point.”
Since the viral posts, Wayfair has deleted all of the furniture and accessory listings. A further statement has yet to be released.
