Waitress Saves Boy From Abusive Parents by Passing Him Note At Restaurant

An Orlando waitress is being labeled a hero after she saved a young boy from his abusive parents by passing him a note at the restaurant.

According to Fox News, Flavaine Carvalho said recalls working at Mrs. Potato Restaurant on South Kirkman Road when she realized that a family ordered food but left an 11-year-old with nothing

Fox News reports that when she questioned the parents, the father said that the boy would be eating at home. She then noticed that the child was covered in bruises.

“I could see he had a big scratch between his eyebrows,” Carvalho said. “A couple of minutes later, I saw a bruise on the side of his eye. So I felt there was something really wrong.”

She sent a note asking if he was okay and he finally responded yes. 911 was called and the parents were soon arrested. Upon further investigation, hospital staff discovered that the young boy was covered in bruises.

The child’s parents were abusing him at home including tying him up with straps, beating him, and hanging him upside down.  They were charged with child neglect and abuse and he was put in the care of the Florida department of child services.
