USC To Offer Free Tuition To Families Making Under $80K A Year!
This week, The University of Southern California announced two new policies to make education more affordable for students! the Los Angeles-based college shared plans to provide free tuition for incoming freshmen whose family income is less than $80,000 a year. In addition to that, the school also plans to stop calculating homeownership when determining a student’s financial need, calling it a “break for homeowners” in its press release.

According to the College Board website, the average financial aid package for a first-year student was $52,795. The financial break will go into effect for first-year undergraduates enrolled in the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters. It was said that USC plans to increase financial aid by more than $30 million annually, according to Thursday’s announcement. The administration estimates that the increase will help about one-third of students entering the upcoming semesters.
